Harman/Kardon Soundsticks Wireless

Equipped with Bluetooth and award winning design, the Harman Kardon Soundsticks Wireless speaker system is purely stunning. This 2.1-channel system brings a whole new level of excitement to music, video games, and is perfect as a computer speaker setup.

The Design

The Harman Kardon Soundsticks Wireless is the fourth installation in the Soundsticks lineup and its design is based on that of the original Soundsticks speaker system, which became a milestone in design history when became part of the permanent collection at New York City's Museum of Modern Art. The entire body of the speaker system is composed of a high quality see-through plastic which is durable and does not feel cheap to the touch. You may be surprised to find that the subwoofer is larger than it appears in pictures and the two satellite speakers are quite heavy, due to a weighted O shaped base that supports them. What is unique about the Soundsticks Wireless 2.1 speaker system is that the subwoofer faces downward instead of outward like most subwoofers. This ensures a distinct and even distribution of bass that will make the system sound amazing anywhere in the room.

Bose Companion 5 Speaker System

We all know that Bose has a record for making high quality, compact products that top the market with some impressive price tags. Now having an audio engineer as a brother, I've been told several times to stay away from Bose products. Why? I'll try to simplify it by saying Bose puts its brand before its product. The quality of their products are pretty standard. While their speakers do sound quite impressive, they are very overpriced, technically boring, and even more "surprisingly", Bose doesn't publish the technical specifications of their speakers. This is because Bose believes that their products should not be based on the same specifications of every other brand and want to focus more on how their products can be more compact and sound just as good.

Now with that being said, I have done my best to create an unbiased and honest review of the Bose Companion 5 Speaker System because I do believe they are very unique and do in fact sound great.

The Bose Companion 5 Speaker System truly is an amazing system. They will make any computer, TV, or gaming setup sound amazing. Though it is a 2.1 speaker system, Bose designed it for 5.1 encoded music, games, and movies. What this means is that even though there are only two satellites, the quality sound coming from them makes it sound like a surround sound 5.1 system.

The Design

The Bose Companion 5 multimedia speaker comes features a control pod with a volume dial which makes it easy to control the volume when at a desk. The pod itself features a headphone jack and auxiliary port. The two satellites are raised up on long stands that help to make the sound more pronounced and create that 5.1 effect. The USB cable hookup ensures a smooth transfer of sound quality from device to speakers with no digital to analog conversion, meaning better sound quality. The looks of the Bose Companion 5 are fantastic to some of the other systems out there. The subwoofer is not too flashy and overall gives off a premium look and feel.

Dimensions of the subwoofer: 8.5" x 6.75" x 16.75"

Dimensions of the satellites: 8.9" x 5.8" x 3.8"

Included in The Box

  • 2 satellites
  • 1 Acoustimass subwoofer
  • 1 USB cable
  • 1 AC power cord
  • 1 Control pod
